This piece was an in-store promotional cooking video. It was produced for an East-Indian line of cooking sauces know as Patak's.. The video played in grocery stores on a TV-VCR nonstop for 2 weeks and featured a "hip" young man who taught the grocery store viewers how to make East-Indian food. The traditional method of marketing this product was done by individuals who did taste tests in grocery stores all over the country. Cost to do this was $250 per day per location and increased sales 1-2 cases. For the same amount of money the in-store promotional video increased purchase of the product by an average lift of 400 %. This means in stores where the usual volume was 10 cases per month they now moved 50 cases per month.
